Job summary

B&G Foods, Inc. in Ankeny, IA is seeking a Mechanic I or Mechanic II for 3rd shift (11:15 PM–7:45 AM, Sun–Thu). The position includes overtime opportunities and company-paid, competency-based training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Forklift certification within 60 days after starting.
• Prior industrial maintenance experience helpful.
• On-site training provided for job responsibilities.
• Experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, power transmissions, lubrication, pumps, pipe rigging, print reading.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain plant machinery per manuals and specs.
• Diagnose malfunctions and replace defective parts.
• Lubricate and test production equipment.
• Calibrate and adjust machinery to improve performance.
• Assist Engineering with maintenance programs and changeovers.
• Maintain dust collection system components.
