Job summary

B&G Foods Inc. is seeking a Mechanic I/II for our Iowa facility to install, repair and maintain production machinery. You will diagnose malfunctions, service parts, lubricate, and support changeovers while complying with safety standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, forklift certification within 60 days, and prior industrial maintenance experience is helpful. On-site training and career advancement are provided.

Qualifications

• Possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Forklift certification required within 60 days of start.
• Prior industrial maintenance experience is helpful.
• Must pass maintenance testing and demonstrate hands-on hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, power transmissions, lubrication, pumps, pipe rigging, mechanical maintenance, shop machines, tools, combustion, motors, schematics and print reading.
• On-site training provided; prior industrial maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment per diagrams and specifications.
• Diagnose malfunctions and replace defective parts using hand/power tools.
• Test equipment after servicing to verify performance.
• Perform preventive maintenance and document tasks.
• Assist Engineering with set-up and changeover of production equipment.
• Collaborate with outside vendors to enhance maintenance capabilities.
