Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a 3rd Shift Maintenance Generalist for the Banks, AL area (Eufaula feed mill). You will troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment while upholding safety and Tyson policies.

You will perform preventive maintenance, document actions, and respond to mechanical or electrical breakdowns, with ability to work independently and start/stop equipment as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience or graduate of industrial maintenance training program, or combination of experience and education to meet 2-year requirement.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for, but not limited to: troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction.
• Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems.
• Respond to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule.
• Complete appropriate paperwork and reports.
• Must comply with lockout/tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs.
• Must be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
• Able to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision.
• Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision.
• Ability to assist with other mechanics as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work in temperatures that will vary with outside ambient temperatures and humidity (dusty, warm, cold, and/or humid).

Physical Requirements

• Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping, and the ability to climb ladders, lifts, and scaffolds.
• Lifting up to 70lbs. depending on department.
• Required to wear a safety toe boot that can withstand 75lbs. at all times.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience or graduate of industrial maintenance training program or combination of experience and education to meet the 2-year requirement.
• Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• 180 Day Rehire Waiting Period.
• 3 Time Maximum Rehire Rule.
