Job summary

Tyson Foods in Banks, Alabama, is hiring a 3rd Shift Maintenance Generalist to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, document actions taken, and respond to mechanical and electrical breakdowns to minimize downtime.

LOCATION

Responsibilities

• This position is responsible for, but not limited to:
• Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction
• Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems
• Respond to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations
• Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule
• Complete appropriate paperwork and reports
• Must comply with lockout/ tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs
• Must be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairs
• Able to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision
• Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision
• Ability to assist with other mechanics as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Work in temperatures that will vary with outside ambient temperatures and humidity. It can be dusty, warm, cold and/or humid.
• The physical requirements will include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping and the ability to climb ladders, lifts, and scaffolds.
• Lifting will also be required and depending on department could be up to 70lbs.
• Required to wear a safety toe boot that can withstand 75lbs. at all times.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience or graduate of industrial maintenance training program or combination of experience and education to meet the 2 - year requirement.
