Job summary

Prolec-GE Waukesha, Inc. is seeking a Machinist for its heavy manufacturing facility to fabricate and assemble pre-fab and machined components for transformers.

You will train to set up, lay out, mark, and finish components using calibrated measurement tools and a range of hand, powered, hydraulic, pneumatic, and machine tooling. You will work with mild steel, stainless steel, copper, and more, operating machines such as bandsaw, drill press, lathe, milling machine, and others while maintaining

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required or equivalent.
• Experience in Machining/Fabrication preferred.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read prints and technical drawings.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Safety: Uphold all safety protocols and wear proper PPE.
• 5S: Maintain, Clean, and Organize Work Areas.
• Collaboration with supervision, team members, engineering, QA, and other functions.
• Follow prints, drawings, BOMs, and specifications to ensure precise assembly of components.
• Receive assignments from supervisor and execute operations per trained procedures.
• Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and minor repairs on tooling and equipment.
• Assist in training new operators and participate in safety education.
• Conduct self-inspections of work and assist others in quality verifications.
