Job summary

Prolec-GE Waukesha, Inc in Wisconsin is seeking a Machinist to support fabrication and assembly of pre-fab and machined components for transformers. You will train to set up, layout, mark, and fabricate parts using band saws, drills, lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other tooling, following drawings and BOMs.

This role requires physical stamina, the ability to lift 50 lbs, and a team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Prior experience in Machining/Fabrication, Heavy Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Power Equipment preferred.
Ability to follow instructions and maintain quality.
Safety, craftsmanship, and teamwork mindset emphasized.

Responsibilities

Safety: Uphold all safety protocols and wear proper PPE.
5S: Maintain, Clean, and Organize Work Areas.
Collaboration: Work with supervision, team members, engineers, QA, and others.
Follow drawings and BOMs to ensure precise assembly of components.
Receive assignments from Supervisor and complete written/verbal instructions.
Perform contamination control, inspections, cleaning, and setup of machines.
Operate band saws, drills, lathes, mills, and other industrial machines as trained.
Verify machined components against criteria, tolerances, and prints.
Perform minor repairs and tool/equipment maintenance.
Assist in training and safety education for new operators.
Conduct self-inspections and assist others in quality verifications.
