Job summary

Champion Packaging & Distribution Inc. in Woodridge, IL seeks a experienced 3rd shift Maintenance Mechanic to troubleshoot and repair packaging equipment, support facilities, and ensure safety compliance.

Responsibilities include teardown/rebuild of components, changeovers, and setting up fill lines. Must read schematics and work with varied personnel levels; overtime/weekends possible.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems.
• Ability to lift 40-60 lbs and work on feet 80-90% of shift.
• Overtime and weekend work when required.
• Self-starter in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to read prints, schematics and manuals.
• Able to work with all levels of personnel.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment failures involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic components.
• Tear down equipment, rebuild and replace defective parts and component units such as motors, gear boxes, clutches, bearings, and electrical units, reassemble and make final equipment adjustments.
• Assist with changeovers and setup fill lines; perform changeovers and setups on assigned equipment and lines.
• Repair machinery and related equipment; dismantle defective equipment and install new or repaired parts.
• Adhere to and promote all safety policies and PPE.
• Assist supervisor with operation of all production lines and interact with management; participate in special projects or other duties.
