Job summary

Champion Packaging & Distribution Inc. located at 1840 Internationale Parkway, Woodridge, IL, is seeking a 3rd Shift Maintenance Mechanic with a strong electrical and mechanical background.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing industrial packaging equipment and facilities support equipment with a strong emphasis on safety. The ideal candidate will work from daily job assignments, schematics, prints and preventive maintenance sheets, ensuring reliable operation of equipment.

Qualifications

• Three years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical systems.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems.
• Ability to provide a basic set of mechanic's hand tools to function.
• Overtime and weekend work may be required.
• Able to lift 40–60 lbs and work 80–90% of shift on feet.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic components.
• Disassemble, rebuild and replace defective parts (motors, gearboxes, clutches, bearings, electrical units) and reassemble with final adjustments.
• Assist production lines and employees; promote safety policies and PPE compliance.
• Improve changeover procedures and setups on assigned equipment/lines.
• Perform repairs and maintenance on packaging machinery and facilities equipment.
