Job summary

Carpenter Co. has immediate openings for Warehouse Operator in our Fabrication Department. This on-site role operates machinery that cuts and packages foam bedding products at our Longview, NC plant.

You will coordinate with the department manager and lead on material cutting directions to ensure efficient production. The position requires reading work orders, interpreting tape measures, and running computer-controlled cutting equipment while maintaining a steady pace in a high-volume setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree.
• 1+ years manufacturing experience preferred.
• 1+ months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to read and interpret a tape measure.
• Basic Computer knowledge and ability to use computerized equipment in daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret work orders.
• Uses order listing to determine sizes and amounts to cut.
• Operate computer controlled cutting equipment.
• Maintain steady work pace in a high-volume department.
• Verifies proper machine operations and checks output accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Must be able to make machine adjustments when necessary while monitoring the equipment.
