Job summary

HES in Boca Raton is hiring a 3rd Shift Floor Tech (Job ID 3095) to keep facilities clean from 10pm to 6am. You will perform carpet cleaning, scrubbing, waxing, and use floor buffers and burnishers to maintain floors across assigned areas.

This full-time role requires reliable transportation and the ability to work in a fast-paced educational environment, with physical stamina for long shifts and routine lifting.

Qualifications

• High school degree preferred but not required.
• Prior floor, hard surface, carpet cleaning or janitorial experience preferred.
• Reliable vehicle and ability to read/write at job level.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standard of cleanliness.
• Operate carpet cleaning, scrubbing, stripping, sealing, waxing, spray buffing floors.
• Operate and maintain floor cleaning/finishing equipment (buffers, burnishes, scrubbers).
• Inspect equipment and chemicals; ensure proper dilution ratios.
• Assist with general cleaning and minor maintenance tasks as needed.

Job Skills / Requirements

Floor Techs / Cleaners are responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of all assigned areas. Floor Techs / Cleaners perform any combination of cleaning duties to maintain the daily upkeep and cleanliness of the facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain a high standard of excellence.
• Performs the following duties: carpet cleaning (bonnet and extraction), scrubbing, stripping, sealing, waxing, and spray buffing had surface floors.
• Must be able to operate high and low speed buffers up to 24 inch and 3000 RPM propane burnishing equipment.
• Follow established safety precautions for cleaning and maintaining all areas of the facility.
• Must be able to operate and maintain all floor cleaning/finishing equipment to include but not limited to floor buffer/burnishes, water extraction machine, and carpet cleaning equipment.
• Inspect & examine the equipment & attachment tools to ensure quality.
• Examine floor care chemicals and their use, ensuring correct dilution ratios are being followed.
• Lifting or moving furniture, supplies, and/or equipment.
• Sweep and mop floors
• Clean or shampoo carpets.
• Perform light window and wall cleaning duties.
• Trash removal.
• Additional job-related duties as required by the supervisor.
• Maintain equipment and supplies. JOB REQUIREMENTS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education : High school degree preferred but not required.
• Experience : Prior floor, hard surface, carpet cleaning or janitorial experience preferred.
