Job summary

Voyager Technologies in Colorado is seeking an Energetics Operator II for the 3rd shift to support energetic production, run multiple machines, and mentor Operator I staff. This onsite role reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor and operates in Penrose, CO and Pueblo, CO under strict safety and quality guidelines.

The position requires hazardous material handling knowledge, ability to follow complex instructions, and the goal of maintaining high quality while meeting throughput targets.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work 3rd shift (8:30 PM - 7:00 AM MDT).
• Hazardous material handling and explosive safety principles knowledge.
• Ability to follow complex instructions, batch sheets, and production travelers with accuracy.
• Awareness of quality control procedures and documentation requirements.
• Competence in operating mechanical or automated production equipment.
• Strong focus on detail, safety, and reliability in hazardous environments.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with measuring tools.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain State and Federal explosives licenses (21+), including pre-employment checks and background clearances.

Responsibilities

• Independently operate one or more production lines or machines, following standard work and instructions, meeting rate and quality targets.
• Perform in-process inspections, use basic measuring tools, and document quality results.
• Assist with setups and changeovers, including tooling, fixtures, and basic parameter adjustments.
• Train and mentor Operator I employees on safe, effective operation and standard work.
• Maintain accurate production, quality, and downtime records in logs or ERP/MES.
• Follow safety, 5S, and housekeeping standards; participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Participate in training and cross-training to learn additional operations as needed.
