Job summary

Rust Belt Recruiting is seeking an Electrical Controls Technician for the Northwest Ohio area on the 3rd shift. You will support fast-paced automated production lines, troubleshoot live equipment, and optimize control loops in a clean, climate-controlled facility.

You’ll work with modern PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and motion systems, perform preventive maintenance, and document actions in CMMS. Onboarding shifts begin on 1st shift with eventual 3rd shift ownership.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electrical engineering technology, automation, or related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on industrial electrical controls experience.
• Proficient PLC troubleshooting and ladder logic editing.
• Experience with AC/DC drives, VFDs, and motion control.
• Able to read electrical schematics and use CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Live line support with rapid online troubleshooting to maximize uptime.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and program VFDs and motion control systems.
• Monitor ladder logic and PLC/HMI control systems.
• Repair electrical faults on high-speed equipment and panels.
• Read and interpret complex electrical schematics and manuals.
• Maintain safety per LOTO, Arc Flash, NFPA 70E standards.
• Document PMs and repairs in CMMS.
• Coordinate shift handoffs and communicate status to team.
