Job summary

Tiara Yachts is hiring a 3rd shift Composite Technician to manufacture fiberglass components for yacht construction. You will follow detailed work instructions, perform lay-up and fabrication, and ensure quality by self-inspecting your work.

Training on-site helps you learn a new trade while earning a wage. Expect a 3rd shift schedule with overtime, a comprehensive benefits package, and a profit-sharing program.

Responsibilities

• As a 3rd shift Composite Technician, build composite parts per Tiara Yachts work instructions.
• Complete lay-up or fabrication of fiberglass structures and communicate constraints to the team leader.
• Prepare, use, and maintain composite tools including resin dispensing equipment.
• Maintain labor tracking records and assist with training others as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor/management.

These composite components include the hulls, decks, superstructures, and other small and medium parts required. We are looking for a dependable, personable individuals who has an eye for quality and are willing to learn. Composite experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right individual that shows willingness to work hard and is enthusiastic about learning a new trade.Job Responsibilities:The 3rd Shift Composite Technician will work with minimal supervision on a team to build specific composite parts per specifications prescribed on the Tiara Yachts work instructionsThe 3rd Shift Composite Technician will complete lay-up, or fabrication of engineered composite (fiberglass) structuresThe 3rd Shift Composite Technician will communicate the current product, process or material constraints or issues to the team leaderMust be accustomed to physical tasks for long periods of time. This includes, but not limited to, standing, lifting, bending, climbing, using your hands and working with various materialsMust have basic computer knowledgeMust have the ability to pay attention to details and self-inspect work to ensure quality defects are minimizedValidation of process and product is critical to quality specificationsThe 3rd Shift Composite Technician will assist with training team members to develop job knowledge and improve performanceMaintain daily labor tracking recordsHave the ability to prepare, use and maintain composite tools, including resin dispensing equipmentAbility to use grinding, cutting and trimming toolsThe 3rd Shift Composite Technician will perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor and/or management3rd Shift Composite Technicians may work on open molding, closed molding and/or infusionEducation and Experience:High School graduate or equivalent preferredGeneral Job Requirements:Ability to work overtime as requestedPromote a safe and clean work environmentWillingness to work on a team or individuallyAble to follow manufacturing instruction and understand processesMust practice PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) policies as mandated per area.
