Job summary

Xylem is seeking a CNC Machinist for the 3rd shift at our Cheektowaga, NY facility. You will set up and operate CNC machines, interpret drawings, and ensure parts meet precise tolerances.

The role requires a vocational technical training background with CNC experience, a high school degree, and at least three years in diversified machining within the last five years. You will work in a safety-conscious manufacturing environment with emphasis on quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Vocational Technical Training program which includes the operation of CNC equipment, measuring tool training and tooling applications.
• High School Degree or completion of equivalency program.
• Three (3) years’ experience in diversified machining operations focusing on CNC machine tool operation and programming within the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines to machine components to specified tolerances.
• Set up fixtures, jigs, tooling, clamps and offsets per documented procedures.
• Program parts using canned cycles, conversational programming or manual programs and adjust speeds/feeds.
• Verify material, inspect finished work, and ensure compliance with drawings and specs.
• Maintain housekeeping, safety, and equipment calibration in the shop.
