Valley Steel Stamp in Greenfield, MA is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for the 3rd shift (10:00 PM – 6:00 AM). This role involves setting up, operating, monitoring, and adjusting CNC machining processes to produce precision parts that meet customer, engineering, and quality requirements.

You will work independently, maintain production flow, follow documented procedures, and uphold VSS quality and safety standards throughout the shift.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years CNC machining or CNC operator experience.
• Able to work the 3rd shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM, Monday to Friday.
• Basic math skills for dimensions, tolerances, offsets, and machine settings.
• Ability to use precision measuring tools and read quality instruments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving.
• Follow written and verbal instructions, schedules, quality requirements, and safety procedures.
• Good communication and teamwork with supervisors, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines to produce complex precision components per work instructions.
• Perform offsets, tool changes, fixture adjustments, and basic troubleshooting.
• Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools to verify dimensions.
• Read blueprints, job travelers, and GD&T requirements applicable to the work.
• Conduct in-process inspections and document results accurately.
• Identify and escalate nonconforming parts, tooling issues, or machine alarms to supervision.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and proper part handling.
• Follow safety protocols, PPE use, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Support production goals with reliable attendance and proper shift handoff.
