Job summary

Vactor Mfg. Inc. in Illinois is seeking a 3rd shift CNC Machinist starting at $31.32/hr to operate mills and lathes and to program and set up CNC machines. You will read blueprints, run and revise programs, and ensure quality while maintaining a safe, clean work environment.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of CNC experience, can learn CNC programming software, and can work with minimal supervision. Overtime may be required to meet production needs.

Qualifications

• Must have minimum of 2 years CNC machine operation experience and knowledge.
• Able to operate conventional machines, such as, but not limited to: engine lathe, Bridgeport, turret lathe, and radial drill press.
• Able to learn CNC programming software.
• Must be able to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machining centers, such as mills and lathes.
• Make and revise CNC programs.
• Perform set-ups on all machines.
• Learn processes such as drilling, reaming, tapping, milling, boring and turning.
• Inspect own work using precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers).
• Maintain equipment and perform basic troubleshooting.
• Use fixtures to produce parts.
• Maintain a clean, safe workplace.
• Overtime when needed.
