Job summary

Vactor Manufacturing is seeking a CNC machinist to operate centers such as mills and lathes, and to develop and revise CNC programs in a hands-on role at our Streator facility. You will perform machine set-ups, read blueprints, and work with conventional machines when needed.

Ideal candidates have at least two years of CNC experience, can read drawings, and learn CNC programming software. You will contribute to a safe, organized shop and may assist with occasional overtime as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years CNC machine operation experience.
• Able to read blueprints.
• Able to learn CNC programming software.
• Must be able to read blueprints and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in prolonged postures (bending, stooping, kneeling, walking, standing, and squatting) while performing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machining centers, such as mills and lathes.
• Make and revise CNC programs.
• Able to perform set-ups on all machines.
• Capable of learning drilling, reaming, tapping, milling, boring and turning.
• Inspect own work using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, etc.
• Responsible for maintaining equipment and basic troubleshooting.
• Run deburring equipment.
• Use fixtures to produce parts.
• Maintain a clean, safe workplace.
• Overtime commitment when needed.
