Vactor Mfg. Inc. in Streator, IL is seeking a 3rd shift CNC Machinist starting at $31.32/hr to operate CNC centers, perform set-ups, and develop programs. Read blueprints, work with mills and lathes, and help maintain a clean, safe workspace. Overtime may be required.

Description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must be able to operate CNC machining centers, such as mills and lathes
• Make and revise CNC programs
• Able to perform set-ups on all machines
• Capable of learning processes such as drilling, reaming, tapping, milling, boring and turning
• Inspect own work using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, etc.
• Responsible for maintaining equipment and basic troubleshooting
• Use fixtures to produce parts
• Maintain a clean, safe workplace
• Overtime commitment when needed

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Must have minimum of 2 years CNC machine operation experience and knowledge
• Able to operate conventional machines, such as, but not limited to: engine lathe, Bridgeport, turret lathe, and radial drill press
• Able to learn CNC programming software
• Must be able to read blueprints
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in prolonged postures (bending, stooping, kneeling, walking, standing, and squatting) while performing all job tasks.
