Job summary

University of Iowa seeks full-time Central Service Technicians for 3rd shift, 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with rotating on-call/weekends/holidays. Roles are located in Coralville and Iowa City, performing sterile processing duties across decontamination, sterilization, packaging, and inventory management.

Under supervision, you will handle complex instrument trays, maintain QA, and document all processes. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, with hospital-related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year hospital-related experience or background in sterile technique preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates, inspects, cleans, and assembles instrument trays and implants.
• Operates endoscope washers, sonic washers, and decontamination equipment.
• Performs sterilization, packaging inspection, and proper documentation of items.
• Assembles instrument trays per procedure cards and documents missing items.
• Maintains inventory levels and uses multiple computer software programs.
• Performs biological monitoring and preventative maintenance on sterilizers.
• Participates in in-service programs and team training.
• Performs other duties as assigned and can move 25 lbs.
