The University of Iowa seeks full-time Central Service Technicians for 3rd shift, located within the Integrated Services Center in Coralville and Turn Center in Iowa City. Duties include decontamination, sterilization, packaging, and inventory of sterile medical devices, with on-call, weekends, and holidays rotation.
Responsibilities cover instrument decontamination, tray assembly, quality documentation, and high-volume processing under supervision.
The Department of Central Sterilizing Services is seeking to fill full-time Central Service Technicians on 3rd shift. This position will be available to work Monday-Friday, 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. with rotating on-call/weekends/holidays. This position will be located within the Integrated Services Center in Coralville, IA. Openings are also available within the Turn Center within the Medical Center University Campus in Iowa City.
Under general supervision, this position performs technical duties involving all aspects of sterile processing: decontamination, preparation, packaging, sterilization, sterile storage, distribution of sterile medical devices and inventorying, stocking and distribution of medical supplies.
Position Responsibilities:
1. High school graduation or equivalent, with courses in the physical and natural sciences and mathematics; or
2. One year experience in a hospital-related field that would provide a background in medical environment or sterile technique as it applies to medical supplies and equipment.
