Job summary

Martinrea is seeking a Group Leader to motivate the workforce to meet production and quality requirements while maintaining a safe work environment. The Group Leader will supervise and develop assigned associates, coordinate schedules with Production Control, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adequate materials and resources.

You will drive adherence to quality systems, manage safety programs, and push for waste reduction and efficiency on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of college or equivalent experience.
• Three to five years in manufacturing environment.
• Intimate knowledge of welding, metal stamping/forming, and/or paint operations.
• Automotive manufacturing experience with knowledge of customer releasing and shipping.
• Strong sense of urgency and people orientation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, develop and evaluate assigned associates.
• Meet daily manufacturing requirements to satisfy customer demands.
• Ensure conformance to quality systems and standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment for self and subordinates.
• Coordinate manufacturing schedules with Production Control.

Job Summary:

This individual has the authority to enforce policies and procedures that govern the production floor and to assign, direct, discipline associates as necessary to accomplish assigned tasks.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum two years of college or equivalent experience
• Three to five years of experience in manufacturing environment or combination of education and experience.
• Intimate knowledge of welding, metal stamping and forming, and/or paint operations
• Automotive manufacturing experience to include knowledge of customer releasing and shipping requirements
• Very strong sense of urgency and the ability to get things done
• Must be people oriented

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, develop and conduct evaluations of assigned associates
• Make sure daily manufacturing requirements are met to meet customer demands
• Ensure conformance to all quality systems and standards
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment for self and subordinates
• Coordinate manufacturing schedules with Production Control
• Work closely with cross-functional departments to ensure an adequate supply of raw materials, WIP, MRO items, and human resources
• Meet financial goals as outlined in the business plan
• Coordinate with all parties to ensure new product launches are defect free and on time
• Help identify areas for improvement
• Ensure compliance with Federal/State/Local safety and environmental regulations
• Seek ways to reduce waste, manufacturing byproducts, and hazardous raw materials
• Report and enter daily scrap in CMS
• Inspire teamwork among associates

Working Conditions

• 20% office, 80% plant floor (PPE required)
