Job summary

RPM Industrial Coatings Group in Hudson, NC is seeking 3rd Shift Batch Makers (Shift Differential). A $1,000 sign-on bonus is offered. This role prepares intermediates and finished products by batch formulation, monitors quality procedures, and compiles QC data.

You will calibrate equipment, maintain batch records, and coordinate with QC Lab for product validation. Ideal candidates have good math/measurement skills, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to follow batch tickets

Qualifications

• No previous experience required
• Experience in Manufacturing, Filling Area strongly preferred
• Good math/measurement skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Basic reading and comprehension skills
• Must achieve required color testing score
• Reasoning Ability
• Determine correct batch making procedures as instructed in initial training and described on batch ticket
• Determine if raw materials are fit for use
• Work without continuous supervision while completing assigned projects

Responsibilities

• Weigh and measure solvents, resins, pigments, and additives into blending tanks or mills
• Tend mixing or grinding equipment and control time, heat, speed
• Take product samples to QC Lab for checks
• Check production batches against standards
• Make and adjust batches as needed
• Recheck batches after adjustments for standard specs
• Record results on batch cards and in the computer
• Consult with QC chemist for out-of-spec products
• Calibrate QC equipment as required
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area
• Support supervisor/manager with other duties
