Job summary

Metalcraft of Mayville, Inc. is seeking an Assembly Lead on the 3rd shift to assist the Assembly Supervisor in directing the line. You will guide assemblers, ensure quality, and maintain a safe, organized work area in a 10pm–6am schedule. A $1000 signing bonus and opportunity for advancement are offered.

Candidates should have strong communication, measurement, and teamwork skills, with prior manufacturing or leadership experience preferred and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform dimensional measuring and quickly learn the use of precision measurement tools.
• Ability to perform simple math and measurements.
• Ability to maintain a high attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to and including 50 lbs.
• Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, crouching, or reaching above the shoulders is required.
• Ability to understand/apply knowledge of G and M codes and have applicable computer skills.
• Ability to focus and work at a continuous pace for extended periods of time.
• Aptitude to take orders and execute the same efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Supervisor in directing and assisting in the work activities assemblers.
• Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
• Coordinate orders with material handling and work with Production Control to assure orders are ready for assembly.
• Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
• Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
• Verify specifications by measuring completed component.
• Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
• Provide input on schedule to ensure maximum efficiency and on time delivery is met.
• Keep informed of any changes and new procedures throughout the day to stay on schedule
• Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
