Job summary

Saab, West Lafayette, IN, seeks 3rd shift Structural Assemblers to build the aft fuselage for the US Air Force T-7A Red Hawk trainer. On-site, paid Aerospace structures training academy provided with an anticipated start in early December 2026.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, using hand and power tools, aligning assemblies, and contributing to continuous improvement. Starting hourly rate is $23-$25 with a $2 shift premium; offers and benefits described on offer.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant assembly or hand tool experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to select and safely use appropriate hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow standardized procedures and maintain consistent quality.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft structure and install systems according to procedures.
• Train new team members and share knowledge of best practices.
• Support continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
• Complete functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Handle 'Class A' surfaces, including touch-up painting.
• Sign off on work per specifications and train colleagues.
