Job summary

Kitware is advancing 3D vision research from algorithms to open source applications, including TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield. The role focuses on photogrammetry, camera calibration, and 3D reconstruction from imagery and video, with opportunities to publish and present at major conferences.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with multiview geometry to develop 3D point clouds, meshes, Gaussian splats, or NeRFs.
• Experience with AI/ML methods for 3D reconstruction or camera calibration.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python; strong software development practices.
• A strong publication record in top-tier conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and pursue TS/SCI clearance if required.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop algorithms for photogrammetry, camera calibration, registration, and 3D reconstruction from images and video.
• Contribute to open source software such as TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield.
• Collaborate with researchers to develop ideas and peer-review work.
• Prepare and present research findings to customers and collaborators.
• Seek funding to grow and develop research areas and present at national/international conferences.
• Publish novel work and apply AI approaches to national security challenges.
