Job summary

Kitware invites researchers to advance 3D vision, photogrammetry, and reconstruction from imagery and video. You will contribute to open source frameworks like TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield, collaborating with customers and researchers on cutting-edge problems in national security contexts.

You should hold a PhD, have strong publications, and be proficient in C++/Python, with a track record in 3D reconstruction techniques and multiview geometry.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with multiview geometry to build 3D point clouds, meshes, Gaussian Splats, or NeRFs from imagery/video.
• Experience with AI/ML methods for 3D reconstruction or camera calibration.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python and good software development practices.
• Strong publication record in CVPR/ICCV/ECCV or similar conferences.
• Innovative approach with a track record of solving technical challenges using imagery.
• Ability to collaborate well in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to pursue TS/SCI security clearance if not already cleared.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and develop solutions for camera calibration, registration, and 3D reconstruction from images.
• Contribute to open source software such as TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield.
• Collaborate with researchers to generate ideas and peer-review work.
• Prepare and present research findings to customers and collaborators.
• Engage in national/international conferences (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, WACV, 3DV).
• Seek funding to grow research areas if desired.
