Job summary

Kitware seeks a PhD-level researcher to advance 3D vision across photogrammetry, registration, and open-source projects like TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield. You will work with imaging data from aerial, satellite, and other domains, applying AI/ML methods to 3D reconstruction and calibration.

You will collaborate with researchers, publish your findings, and present at conferences while exploring funding opportunities and national security-aligned applications.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience using multiview geometry to develop algorithms for 3D point clouds, meshes, Gaussian Splats, or NeRFs.
• Experience with AI/ML methods for 3D reconstruction or camera calibration.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python with good software development practices.
• Strong publication record in CVPR/ICCV/ECCV and related venues.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and develop algorithms for photogrammetry, camera calibration, registration, and 3D reconstruction from images/videos.
• Contribute to open source software such as TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield.
• Collaborate with researchers to develop ideas and peer-review work.
• Prepare and present research findings to customers and collaborators.
• Attend national/international conferences (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, WACV, 3DV) and pursue funding for research.
