Job summary

Kitware seeks a PhD-level researcher to advance photogrammetry, camera calibration, and 3D reconstruction from imagery. You’ll contribute to TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield, and collaborate with researchers to publish innovative results.

You will present findings to customers, partake in field tests, and engage with national/international conferences. Responsibilities include seeking funding and applying state-of-the-art AI to real-world challenges.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with multiview geometry to build 3D representations from imagery or video.
• Experience with AI/ML methods for 3D reconstruction or camera calibration.
• Strong software development practices; proficient in C++ and/or Python.
• Strong publication record in top-tier conferences (CVPR/ICCV/ECCV).
• Willingness to pursue TS/SCI security clearance if required.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop algorithms for camera calibration, registration, and 3D reconstruction from images.
• Contribute to open source software such as TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield.
• Collaborate with researchers to develop ideas and peer-review work.
• Prepare and present research findings to customers and collaborators.
• Promote outcomes at national/international conferences (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, WACV, 3DV).
• Seek funding to grow your own research areas if desired.
