Job summary

Essenti Talent in New York City is seeking a 3D Technical Designer to uphold fit and quality for branded children's apparel. The role collaborates with design and production to ensure consistent construction and measurement standards.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of relevant experience, proficiency with Browzwear 3D software, patternmaking knowledge, and strong Excel/Word skills. On-site five days a week.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in Children's apparel.
• Experience with Browzwear 3D software or similar.
• Familiar with measuring sample points to ensure tolerance.
• Strong knowledge of knit and woven garment construction.
• Knowledge of patternmaking, sewing terminology and garment construction.
• Understanding of garment manufacturing and product development process.
• Proficient in Excel and MS Word; Illustrator a plus.
• Willing to work in the office 5 days/week.

Responsibilities

• Work with Design and Production teams to establish and maintain fit and construction standards to ensure brand consistency and quality.
• Create spec packages for each style including correct grade rules and non-standard construction details.
• Accurate measurement and evaluation of development, proto samples for spec, quality & workmanship.
• Prepare and lead fit sessions with Design and Production Depts.
• Communicate measurement, construction and workmanship comments to vendors, including detailed explanations, diagrams and/or patterns as needed.
• Work with Production and Compliance Depts to ensure all products meet relevant children’s safety requirements.
• Answer questions via email regarding fit, specs, pattern and construction as needed.
