Job summary

Hire Consulting Services in NYC is seeking an experienced 3D Technical Designer to ensure consistent fit, construction, and quality for children’s apparel. You will collaborate with Design and Production to develop accurate spec packages and lead fit sessions, driving precise measurements and construction details.

The role requires Browzwear 3D software experience, patternmaking knowledge, and the ability to communicate technical notes to vendors. Office-based, full-time position in the NYC area.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in children's apparel
• Experience with Browzwear 3D software
• Knowledge of measurement tolerance and sample points
• Strong knit and woven garment construction knowledge
• Understanding of patternmaking and sewing terminology
• Proficient in Excel and MS Word; Illustrator a plus
• Willing to work in the office 5 days/week

Responsibilities

• Work with Design and Production teams to establish and maintain fit and construction standards to ensure brand consistency and quality
• Create spec packages for each style including correct grade rules and non-standard construction details
• Accurate measurement and evaluation of development, proto samples for spec, quality & workmanship
• Prepare and lead fit sessions with Design and Production Depts
• Communicate measurement, construction and workmanship comments to vendors, including diagrams/patterns as needed
• Work with Production and Compliance Depts to ensure all products meet relevant children’s safety requirements
• Answer questions via email regarding fit, specs, pattern and construction as needed
