Job summary

Client Growth Resources, Inc in New York City is seeking a 3D Technical Designer for children’s apparel to develop and maintain quality and fit. You will work with Design and Production to establish and maintain standards, and prepare detailed spec packages for each style.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years experience in children’s wear, proficiency with Browzwear 3D or similar software, and strong knowledge of knit and woven construction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in children’s wear.
• Experience with Browzwear 3D software or similar.
• Familiar with measurement points of sample measurements within tolerance.
• Strong knowledge of knit and woven garment construction.
• Knowledge of patternmaking, sewing terminology and garment construction.
• Understanding of garment manufacturing and product development process.
• Proficient in Excel and MS Word; Illustrator is a plus.
• Office-based role; 5 days/week onsite.

Responsibilities

• Work with Design and Production to establish fit and construction standards.
• Create spec packages with grade rules and construction details.
• Accurate measurement and evaluation of development, proto samples.
• Prepare and lead fit sessions with Design and Production.
• Communicate measurement and construction comments to vendors with explanations.
• Ensure products meet children’s safety requirements.
• Answer questions via email regarding fit, specs, pattern and construction.
