Job summary

Connectly Recruiting is seeking a 3D Technical Designer for children’s apparel in NYC to maintain fit, quality, and construction standards across styles. The role involves creating and reviewing spec packages, ensuring samples meet specs, and collaborating with Design, Production, and Compliance teams to uphold brand integrity.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of relevant experience, proficiency with Browzwear (or similar 3D software), and strong knowledge of knit and woven garment construction,

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years relevant experience, children swear experience
• Experience with Browzwear 3D software or similar software.
• Familiar with measuring sample points of measurement to ensure submitted samples are within tolerance of required specifications
• Strong knowledge of knit and woven garment construction
• Knowledge of patternmaking, sewing terminology and garment construction
• Have understanding of garment manufacturing and product development process
• Proficient in the use of Excel and MS Word; knowledge of Illustrator a plus
• Must be willing to work in the office 5 days/week.

Responsibilities

• Work with Design and Production teams to establish and maintain fit and construction standards to ensure brand consistency and quality
• Create spec packages for each style including correct grade rules and non-standard construction details
• Accurate measurement and evaluation of development, proto samples for spec, quality & workmanship
• Prepare and lead fit sessions with Design and Production Depts
• Communicate measurement, construction and workmanship comments to vendors, including providing detailed explanations, diagrams and/or patterns as needed
• Work with Production and Compliance Depts to ensure all products meet relevant children’s safety requirements
• Answer questions via email regarding fit, specs, pattern and construction as needed
