Job summary

SourcePro Search, LLC is seeking a 3D Technical Designer for children's apparel in New York City. You will develop and maintain fit, construction standards, and QA for branded and licensed products.

You will create spec packages, evaluate development samples, and lead fit sessions with Design and Production teams to ensure safety and quality across knit and woven garments. Office-based, five days per week, in NYC.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience in children’s apparel, with fit and construction knowledge.
• Experience with Browzwear 3D or similar software.
• Familiarity with measuring sample points and tolerances.
• Knowledge of knit and woven garment construction; patternmaking and sewing terminology.
• Proficient in Excel and MS Word; Illustrator a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work with Design and Production to establish and maintain fit and construction standards for brand consistency and quality.
• Create spec packages for each style, including grade rules and non-standard construction details.
• Accurately measure and evaluate development and proto samples for specs, quality, and workmanship.
• Lead fit sessions with Design and Production departments.
• Communicate measurement, construction and workmanship comments to vendors with clear explanations, diagrams, or patterns.
• Ensure products meet children’s safety requirements with Production and Compliance teams.
• Respond to questions via email regarding fit, specs, pattern, and construction.
