Job summary

Formlabs is seeking a 3D Printing R&D Engineer in Somerville, MA to advance printing techniques and architectures. You will design experiments, build fixtures, analyze results, and collaborate across mechanical, software, and systems teams to push product performance.

You will contribute to new technologies and validate changes that improve hardware and software, with equity- based compensation and strong benefits. This role is on-site at our Somerville facility.

Qualifications

• Experience designing experiments and analyzing data to inform design decisions.
• Ability to design and build test fixtures for experiments.
• Strong CAD modeling and mechatronics understanding.

Responsibilities

• Create new 3D printing techniques and evaluate printer performance.
• Collaborate across engineering to implement improvements to products.
• Perform experiments and inform software/hardware enhancements.
• Investigate new technologies and printer architectures.
• Partner with teams to redesign support structure algorithms based on results.
