Job summary

Stockmeister Construction Services in Jackson, Ohio is seeking a Fabrication Engineer / Mechanical Designer. This role blends 3D design, mechanical problem-solving, fabrication, and project management, requiring hands-on work on the shop floor with welders and fabricators to develop practical, buildable solutions.

You will guide projects from initial problem through design, proposal, fabrication and installation, creating 3D models, shop drawings and assemblies with Inventor or SolidWorks, and

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in fabrication or design
• Experience reading and creating blueprints and shop drawings
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on problem solving
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers and shop personnel

Responsibilities

• Develop practical mechanical and fabrication solutions for client needs
• Create 3D models, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and assemblies
• Design using Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or equivalent 3D CAD software
• Review blueprints, field measurements, and conditions
• Coordinate projects from concept to installation
• Assist with estimating, scheduling, and vendor coordination
• Provide field and installation oversight as needed
