Job summary

Permasteelisa North America is seeking a Fabrication Designer Sr. to join our design team in Portland, OR. The role reads 2D shop drawings of curtain wall and translates them into 3D models using Autodesk Inventor and BOM for material planning and orders with minimal oversight.

You will mentor others, establish design strategies, and stay with a project through multiple steps. Strong collaboration with engineers and production managers, adherence to company standards, and occasional travel are

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree preferred in Architectural Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering.
• Proficient in Autodesk Inventor and PMF (or related) software.
• Proficient in Excel, Navisworks, AutoCAD.
• Overtime work as required to ensure work schedule compliance.
• International travel may be required to the country where the project may be located or relevant inter-company responsible for the project execution.

Responsibilities

• Accurately interpret 2D shop drawings into 3D models and BOM to ensure specifications are effectively communicated to the design and production teams.
• Coordinate effectively with various departments, fostering a collaborative team environment and professional growth.
• Follows standards set forth by the company and project team.
• Completes tasks within the time allotted or communicates well ahead of deadline with request for support.
• Lead design training initiatives to enhance team proficiency in 3D modeling and CAD technologies, promoting continuous skill development as required.
• Accountable for the accuracy and timeliness of release and fabrication information from the project designteam
• Coordinates effectively with greaterteam and other project design leads, fostering a collaborative team environment and professional growth.
• Ensures that all standards are followed on their projects including internal performance documentation
