The Arc of Somerset County in Somerset County, NJ is hiring a 35 Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a 4pm to 11pm shift in our group home residences.

The role provides support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, assisting with daily living, nutrition, and community activities.

Requirements include HS diploma or GED and a valid driver's license; one year of I/DD experience preferred; pay is $18.91 per hour.

Competenze

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver’s license.
• One year’s experience I/DD (preferred).

Mansioni

• Assist consumers in skill development and daily living activities.
• Ensure clients’ nutritional needs and assist with feeding as necessary.
• Assist with meal planning and grocery shopping.
• Collaborate on the development and implementation of ISP for consumers.
• Train and support consumers in all areas of their ISP.
• Assist with medication administration.
• Support clients in the community, including social, recreational, cultural, religious and educational networks.

Eligibility/Experience Requirements:

Job Description:

• Assist consumers, as needed, in skill development, activities of daily living, personal care, domestic living, recreation and socialization
• Ensure assigned clients’ nutritional needs; assisting with feeding as necessary
• Assist consumers in nutritional planning, grocery shopping and preparation of all meals.
• Collaborate on the development/implementation of consumers’ Individual Service plans (ISP).
• Train and support consumers in all areas of their ISP.
• Assist with medication administration.
• Train and support consumers in the community including: social, recreational, cultural, religion and education networks.
