Job summary

The Arc of Somerset County is hiring a 35-hour Direct Support Professional (DSP) for the Day Hab Program in Hillsborough, NJ. The role runs Monday to Friday, 9 am to 4 pm, supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Pay is $18.91 per hour. A HS diploma or GED is required, with a valid driver’s license and at least 1 year of I/DD experience preferred. Responsibilities include daily living assistance, meal prep, ISP collaboration, and community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Assist with medication administration.
• Support consumers in community activities and networks.

Job Description:

• Assist consumers, as needed, in skill development, activities of daily living, personal care, domestic living, recreation and socialization
• Ensure assigned clients’ nutritional needs; assisting with feeding as necessary
• Assist consumers in nutritional planning, grocery shopping and preparation of all meals.
• Collaborate on the development/implementation of consumers’ Individual Service plans (ISP).
• Train and support consumers in all areas of their ISP.
• Assist with medication administration.
• Train and support consumers in the community including: social, recreational, cultural, religion and education networks.
