Job summary

The National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) is seeking a CNC Machinist with 3-Axis experience for our Park City, KS location. Responsibilities include set up and operation of tools to create, modify, or repair precision parts, with on-time quality checks to ensure parts meet specifications.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and 3 years of CNC machinist experience; 30 hours of related coursework can substitute for one year of experience.

Qualifications

• Experience with 3-Axis machining and precision part production.
• Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and electronic files.
• Strong attention to detail and time management.
• Good communication and teamwork required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machines to produce, modify, or repair precision parts.
• Monitor machinery and perform quality checks to ensure specifications are met.
• Troubleshoot equipment, new programs, and/or products and address malfunctions.
• Provide training and oversight of new hires and students.
