Job summary

YKK Americas Group in Macon, GA is seeking a BW Finishing Operator for the 2nd shift. You will operate wire finishing machines, monitor performance, perform measurements, and maintain housekeeping and safety standards.

You will also handle spools and pallets, record daily production, and operate a forklift to move heavy wire spools and assist shipments. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and the ability to wear a respirator.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Able to stoop/bend, reach/stretch and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Forklift driving ability and respirator use required.

Responsibilities

• Operate Y-bar and Flatwire finishing machines, monitor and adjust machines as needed, perform dimension checks on samples with various measuring devices to ensure that product is within standard.
• Monitor wire and rolls for surface quality, perform minor maintenance on machines such as roll changes, guide alignments and other minor tasks; also, some troubleshooting involved.
• Perform item changes which require the use of basic hand tools and making specific adjustments at each forming stand as outlined on detailed instructions.
• Tag and mark all spools and pallets that are produced and record daily production.
• Operate forklift to transport spools of wire weighing 500-1200 kg to various locations within the department; help unload trucks and prepare daily shipments; physically move and arrange spools of wire.
