Job summary

Toshiba America Energy Systems seeks a skilled 2nd shift welder at the Milwaukee Service Center. You will perform setup and all position welding on a diverse range of parts, reading engineering drawings, and using scales, gauges, and templates to ensure precise quality.

The role involves welding various materials including steel, aluminum, stainless, bronzes, copper, and stellite overlays. Responsibilities include preheat, post-weld heat treat, weld repairs on turbine components, and operating

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with basic math and measurement skills.
• Certified in arc/gas and TIG welding.
• Minimum 3 years welding experience with TIG, Stick, and Wire welds.
• Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Ability to read blueprints and work from layouts.
• Proficient use of measuring tools and gauges.

Responsibilities

• Plan and layout work from engineering drawings for efficient fabrication.
• Weld on a diversified line with close tolerances and irregular shapes.
• Preheat, post-heat treat, and verify weld quality per specs.
• Weld stellite overlays and repairs on turbine components.
• Operate furnaces for preheat and stress relief per procedure.
• Perform assembly, material handling, and in-process inspections as needed.
• Follow safety rules and use measuring tools for quality checks.
• Operate cranes and fork trucks to move materials.

Education

3+ years welding experience
