Job summary

Toshiba offers a 2nd shift machinist role at the Milwaukee Service Center. The machinist sets up and operates large manual and CNC tools to fabricate, repair, and finish parts per engineering drawings and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate large manual and computer-controlled machine tools to produce or repair parts in accordance with engineering and quality requirements.
• Plan machining sequences, tooling arrangements, speeds, feeds, and work-holding methods for varied assignments using established shop practices.
• Lay out, align, secure, and machine large or irregular workpieces requiring difficult setups and advanced work-holding techniques.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, dimensional requirements, and applicable work instructions.
• Manufacture, adapt, and sharpen tooling or attachments needed to complete assigned work.
• Inspect work during and after machining using micrometers, indicators, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Move and position large parts using overhead cranes, lift trucks, and related material-handing equipment.
• Provide task-level guidance to less-experienced employees on machine operations, setups, safety requirements, and work practices.
