Job summary

Martin Sprocket & Gear is seeking a Welder / Fabricator to join its precision-focused team in our manufacturing facility. You will operate metalworking equipment, fabricate parts, read blueprints, and ensure welded assemblies meet strict specifications.

You'll work on the 2nd shift (Mon-Thu 2:30 PM–1:00 AM) with a 6% shift differential, enjoy comprehensive benefits, and join a family-owned company known for reliability and a strong quality culture.

Qualifications

• Experience operating hydraulic presses and working in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read English instructions and complete logs/reports.
• Commitment to safety and following safety programs.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and stand for long shifts.
• Willingness to work in a non-climate-controlled shop.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Collaborative team player.
• Capable of using hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Machine operation: Operate metalworking machines such as shears, presses, and grinders to shape metal parts as required.
• Fabrication of metal parts: Cut, shape, and assemble metal components using various hand and power tools, ensuring adherence to specifications.
• Blueprint interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to accurately fabricate metal parts according to the design.
• Welding and assembly: Weld, braze, or solder metal parts together using appropriate techniques and equipment.
• Inspection and quality control: Inspect finished products for defects, ensuring they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Maintenance of tools and equipment: Maintain and clean tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
• Work area organization: Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe to ensure a productive work environment.
• Adherence to safety protocols: Follow all safety guidelines, including wearing appropriate PPE and complying with safety procedures.
• Cross-departmental support: Support additional areas or departments as assigned to enhance overall operations and contribute to team success.
