Job summary

Martin Sprocket & Gear is seeking a MIG welder on the 2nd shift to join a team that values precision and innovation in manufacturing power transmission components.

You will weld to specifications, follow blueprints, handle materials, inspect welds, maintain tools and workspace, and adhere to safety protocols. English communication and shift endurance are required; comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

  • MIG Welding experience required in a manufacturing environment.
  • Flux Core welding experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with grinding tools, drill presses, and ironwork.
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions in English.
  • Must be physically able to lift and position heavy components.
  • Ability to work scheduled hours and adhere to policies.
  • Ability to stand for the entire shift in a non-climate-controlled environment.

Responsibilities

  • MIG Welding: join metal parts to spec.
  • Production Task Execution: follow sheets/blueprints/instructions.
  • Material Handling: maneuver large/heavy parts; crane assist as needed.
  • Weld Inspection & Finishing: inspect welds; grind as needed.
  • Machine & Workspace Maintenance: keep area clean; follow safety.
  • Quality Control: ensure tolerances and standards.
  • Cross-Functional Support: assist in other areas as needed.

Job description

What You’ll Do
  • MIG Welding: Perform MIG welding to join metal parts, ensuring quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Production Task Execution: Follow process sheets, blueprints, or verbal instructions from the supervisor to complete production tasks accurately.
  • Material Handling: Maneuver large or heavy parts manually or with the assistance of a crane, as required.
  • Weld Inspection & Finishing: Inspect welds throughout the process for quality, using grinding tools as necessary to achieve desired finishes.
  • Machine & Workspace Maintenance: Keep machines and work areas clean and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished work to ensure it meets predetermined tolerances and standards.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Assist in other areas or departments as assigned to meet production needs.
What You’ll Bring
  • MIG Welding Experience: Prior experience in MIG welding within a manufacturing environment or equivalent technical schooling is required.
  • Additional Welding Skills: Experience with Flux Core welding is a plus.
  • Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with grinding tools, drill presses, and ironwork is advantageous.
  • Communication & Documentation: Basic oral communication skills; ability to read and understand written instructions in English and complete basic logs and reports in English.
  • Physical Capability: Physically able to lift, push, pull, and position heavy components as required.
  • Attendance & Compliance: Ability to work scheduled hours and adhere to company timekeeping and all other policies.
  • Shift Endurance: Ability to consistently stand for the entire duration of the shift in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Mechanical Knowledge: General mechanical knowledge is beneficial.
  • Team Orientation: Able to work cooperatively with others and contribute as a team player.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrates accuracy and reliability in all tasks.
Your Schedule
  • 2nd Shift - Monday - Thursday 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM
