Job summary

Martin Sprocket & Gear in Texas is seeking skilled welders for our 2nd shift to join a team that values precision and reliability. You will perform MIG welding, read process sheets, and support production with quality control.

Qualifications

  • MIG welding experience required in manufacturing or equivalent schooling.
  • Flux Core welding experience a plus.
  • English reading and basic log/report writing.
  • Physically able to lift and position heavy components.

Responsibilities

  • MIG welding to join parts per specs.
  • Follow process sheets and blueprints to complete tasks.
  • Handle materials manually or with crane assistance.
  • Inspect welds and finish as required.
  • Maintain machines and work area in clean condition and follow safety rules.
  • Inspect finished work to ensure tolerances.
  • Support other areas as needed.

Job description

We\'re looking for skilled Welders like you!

What You\'ll Do
  • MIG Welding: Perform MIG welding to join metal parts, ensuring quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Production Task Execution: Follow process sheets, blueprints, or verbal instructions from the supervisor to complete production tasks accurately.
  • Material Handling: Maneuver large or heavy parts manually or with the assistance of a crane, as required.
  • Weld Inspection & Finishing: Inspect welds throughout the process for quality, using grinding tools as necessary to achieve desired finishes.
  • Machine & Workspace Maintenance: Keep machines and work areas clean and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished work to ensure it meets predetermined tolerances and standards.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Assist in other areas or departments as assigned to meet production needs.
What You\'ll Bring
  • MIG Welding Experience: Prior experience in MIG welding within a manufacturing environment or equivalent technical schooling is required.
  • Additional Welding Skills: Experience with Flux Core welding is a plus.
  • Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with grinding tools, drill presses, and ironwork is advantageous.
  • Communication & Documentation: Basic oral communication skills; ability to read and understand written instructions in English and complete basic logs and reports in English.
  • Physical Capability: Physically able to lift, push, pull, and position heavy components as required.
  • Attendance & Compliance: Ability to work scheduled hours and adhere to company timekeeping and all other policies.
  • Shift Endurance: Ability to consistently stand for the entire duration of the shift in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Mechanical Knowledge: General mechanical knowledge is beneficial.
  • Team Orientation: Able to work cooperatively with others and contribute as a team player.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrates accuracy and reliability in all tasks.
Your Schedule
  • 2nd Shift - Monday - Thursday 3:00 PM - 1:00 AM
