Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Waste Processing Team Lead (2nd shift) in Allentown, PA. The role supports a team of Environmental Technicians under the Waste Processing Supervisor, handling hazardous waste in a compliant, cost-effective manner.

This is not a supervisory role and has no direct reports. The position requires standing, physical labor, OSHA training, and forklift operation skills, with a focus on training the team to work safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree in Chemistry or Environmental Science-related field preferred.
• 2+ years experience working with hazardous waste preferred.
• Completion of 40 hours OSHA training with 8-hour refresher preferred.
• MUST be 18+ years old per labor laws.

Responsibilities

• Segregate and package material for transport and complete required paperwork per regulations and policies.
• Oversee a team of technicians and manage large projects from receipt to settlement; collect samples and perform onsite testing.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local permit requirements.
• Communicate facility needs and changes in operations to management.
• Provide training and coaching on-the-job in equipment operation and processes.
• Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment after proper training.
• Maintain operational documentation including reports, licenses, procedures and DOT requirements.
• Promptly report incidents or safety concerns to management.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned; responsibilities may vary by site/location.

Education
