Job summary

Veolia North America is hiring for a Waste Processing Team Lead to oversee a team of Environmental Technicians in hazardous waste handling at a site in Allentown, PA. This role requires adherence to safety policies, permits, and regulatory requirements while guiding daily operations and projects.

The position emphasizes training, documentation, and effective communication with management to meet client needs and ensure compliant, safe waste processing operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred in Chemistry or Environmental Science.
• Must have 2+ years experience with hazardous waste (preferred).
• Completion of 40 hours OSHA training with 8-hour refresher (preferred).
• Forklift certification and safe driving record preferred.
• Knowledge of RCRA, DOT, EPA, and state waste regulations.
• Ability to operate pallet jack and basic manual equipment.
• Strong written/spoken English and ability to work with teams.

Responsibilities

• Segregate and package material for transport and complete paperwork per regulations and policies.
• Oversee a team of technicians on large projects from receipt to settlement.
• Collect samples and perform onsite testing for unknown materials.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local permit requirements.
• Provide training and coaching to technicians on operation and paperwork.
