Job summary

Celestica in Richardson, TX, is seeking a first-level supervisor for the 2nd shift (3:30pm–12:00am) to lead a manufacturing team of 10–25 employees. You will ensure on-time production, manage schedules, and enforce safety and quality policies within budget guidelines.

Reporting to the second-level manager, you will drive continuous improvement, coach staff, handle disciplinary actions when needed, and coordinate with planning, logistics, and other functions to meet daily production goals.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of production processes and equipment.
• Understanding of how decisions impact customer satisfaction, product quality, on-time delivery and profitability.
• Coordinate diverse resources to meet production metrics.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Lead, train and motivate a diverse team to achieve high production levels under tight deadlines.
• Proficient with Word, Lotus Notes, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Receives a daily production schedule from planning and material readiness from logistics.
• Coordinates inputs and resources to achieve on-time production within budget guidelines.
• Identifies and resolves bottlenecks in the production process.
• Manages controllable operating expenditures (e.g., scrap, consumables).
• Identifies production limits and guides teams to continuous improvement.
• Manages team performance, motivation and satisfaction to meet quality, output and efficiency targets.
• Conducts return-to-work interviews and first-level disciplinary hearings as needed.
