Job summary

Food Authority, INC is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to oversee daily transportation operations, ensuring safe, timely, and compliant delivery of food products. This role supervises drivers, maintains FIFO practices, and enforces DOT regulations to support fleet performance and customer satisfaction.

The position requires strong leadership, knowledge of DOT standards, and experience with TMS and fleet operations.

Qualifications

Proven experience in transportation or fleet operations, with a supervisory or leadership role.
Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), routing software, GPS, and related technologies.
Bilingual (Spanish) skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, dispatch, and monitor transportation routes while ensuring DOT compliance.
Supervise daily transportation operations, including drivers and driver helpers.
Oversee fleet maintenance, inspections, and repairs to ensure vehicle safety and minimize downtime.
Monitor fuel usage, mileage, and performance metrics to optimize efficiency.
Coordinate with vendors such as Ryder and Penske for equipment and services.
Lead driver onboarding and ongoing training, including CDL compliance and safety programs.
Maintain safety documentation and ensure full DOT compliance (HOS, files, testing).
Debrief drivers post-route and manage documentation and tracking systems.
