Challenge Manufacturing seeks a 2nd Shift Team Leader at our Kansas City, MO plant. This role leads production efforts, trains operators, and supports safety, quality, and delivery goals on the shop floor.

The leader works closely with group leaders to sustain efficient workflow and continuous improvement across shifts. The position requires a High School diploma or GED with 1–3 years in manufacturing or a lead role, strong attention to detail, and good attendance.

Qualifikationen

• Must have basic computer skills and be familiar with basic measurement units.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail are essential.
• Effective communication with team members and leadership is required.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Aufgaben

• Support daily production activities within assigned work zone to meet safety, quality, and delivery expectations.
• Assist group leaders in coordinating workflow and addressing production needs.
• Train team members on standardized work, processes, and tasks.
• Provide guidance and support to operators with problem solving and process questions.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and promote a safe environment.
• Monitor part quality and escalate concerns when standards are not met.
• Maintain accurate production reporting and hourly boards.
• Record process or inspection data as required.
• Support housekeeping and 5S in the work area.
• Identify abnormal conditions and communicate issues promptly.
• Participate in root cause investigations for quality or safety incidents.
• Help ensure materials, tools, and equipment are available and functioning.
• Encourage teamwork and positive morale; onboard and mentor new employees.
